In this 2015 short volume ‘Tenement,’ Gregg Bordowitz considers the notions of geography and time while revisiting New York’s past and speculating about its future. This reader and its overarching series was published in conjunction with MoMA PS1’s 2015 exhibition “Greater New York.” As each volume asks artists to dwell on the meaning of Greater New York geographically and temporally, ‘Tenement’ ruminates on identity, place, and culture. His short and poetic prose offers snapshot upon snapshot, illuminating complex and intimate moments of life.
